The answer is 1 and I will tell you why.

You do not solve mathematic equations simply by going left to right. You do NOT divide 6 by 2 and then multiply that by 1+2.

Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Hoffman would strike you with a ruler.

Multiplication. (Left to right)

Division. (Left to right)

Addition. (Left to right)

And no, dear facebook friends, unlike "politics or almost everything else in life" it is not "up to interpretation".

Yes. Someone actually said that.

It's math. Math is the one of the things in life that is guaranteed. Yes, one could argue that in higher up math the rules are bent and whatever. But let's leave that up to Steven Hawking. This is basic algebra and if you follow the proper rules you get the proper answer.

I honestly cannot believe that people actually believe that they can solve everything by saying "That's your opinion" or "Well that's the way you see it".

Now, don't get me wrong... I am a huge fan of agreeing to disagree and loving thy neighbor. I feel like a lot of our world problems would be solved if everyone wasn't trying to jam their own philosophies down other people's throats.

But this is math.

And whether or not you like it, there are rules. And those rules must be followed or you will get the answer wrong.

If I'm not mistaken, the people who stand behind "That's your opinion" also stand for moderation, yes? Well remember to use that saying in moderation because it's not always true.
